VentPaL Terms & Communication Boundaries
Nature of Service
VentPal is a written, pen-pal style reflection service designed to provide thoughtful, respectful responses to personal expression. VentPal is not therapy, counseling, coaching, crisis intervention, medical advice, or psychological treatment. We are not licensed therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, or healthcare providers. VentPal does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or clinical mental health services.
How VentPaL Works
Message Structure & Limits
Each VentPal exchange includes:
- One written message from the client (up to 1,000 words)
- One thoughtful written response from VentPal
- Responses delivered within 24–48 hours
Monthly plans include a set number of exchanges per billing cycle. Once included exchanges are used, additional messages will not receive a response unless a new plan is purchased.
Communication Guidelines
VentPal is designed for reflective expression and structured correspondence.
It is not intended for:
- Daily unlimited communication
- Ongoing therapeutic dialogue
- Emergency emotional support
- Crisis intervention
- Situations requiring licensed mental health care
VentPal reserves the right to decline or discontinue communication if the service is used outside its intended purpose.
Crisis & Self-Harm Policy
If a client expresses active self-harm intent, suicidal ideation, or threats of harm toward others, VentPal will respond once with crisis resources and discontinue further engagement.
VentPal is not equipped for crisis response.
Clients will be directed to:
- 988 (U.S. Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)
- Local emergency services
- A licensed mental health professional
No Refund Policy
Due to the time-sensitive and intellectual nature of written response services, all VentPal purchases are final and non-refundable.
If communication is discontinued due to misuse of the service, violation of terms, crisis-level content, or threatening behavior, no refund will be issued.
Purchasing VentPal services constitutes agreement to these terms.
Confidentiality Notice
VentPal communications are treated respectfully and privately. However, this is not a HIPAA-covered service, and confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in the same manner as licensed medical or therapeutic services.
User Responsibility
VentPal provides reflective written responses but does not assume responsibility for personal decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from communication.
Clients remain responsible for their own well-being and choices.
